The Outside

Lighting and Mirrors

The IONIQ 5’s side-view mirrors have integrated heating functions and turn-signal indicators. The Hyundai has LED headlights, LED daytime-running lights, LED taillights, and an LED high-mounted center stop lamp. The main headlights include automatic capabilities and intelligent High Beam Assist, which autonomously switches the high beams to low when another driver is detected.

Exterior Amenities

The 2024 IONIQ 5’s lower-grille active shutters, rear spoiler, and shark-fin roof-mounted antenna not only enhance the SUV’s unique style but also improve its handling and aerodynamics. Hyundai equipped all 2024 IONIQ 5 models with acoustic front-windshield glass to give each ride better durability, protection from the sun, and reduced outside noise for enhanced cabin ambiance. The rear windows are tinted with privacy glass, and the front doors feature solar glass.

Performance Specs

Every IONIQ 5 this year boasts a permanent magnet synchronous motor to enhance the EV’s efficiency, control, and power. The rear-wheel-drive base model delivers the equivalent of 168 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque and includes a single-speed reduction-gear transmission controlled by shift-by-wire. All IONIQ 5 trims include Drive Mode Select, which offers Eco, Sport, and Snow, and Normal modes.

The robust 2024 IONIQ 5 includes an independent multi-link rear suspension, an independent MacPherson strut front suspension with coil springs, and a unibody construction made with high-strength steel.

Seating and Layout

This year’s IONIQ 5 seats five occupants, with the base model featuring stain-resistant cloth seating. Higher trims replace the cloth seats with H-Tex trimming, and heated front seats come standard on all trim levels.

The 60/40-split connected bench serving as the rear seat offers reclining and sliding adjustments. You can also fold down this bench to increase the cargo space from 27.2 to 59.3 cubic feet. Passengers in the 2024 IONIQ 5 will enjoy a spacious 106.5 cubic feet of room in the SUV’s cabin.

Interior Tech

You can monitor your IONIQ 5’s vital information through the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, while the infotainment center features a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen with a built-in navigation system. The standard HD Radio system includes traffic flow and incident data reports to help you find the best route to your destination. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity are also standard features on the base model.
